I figured it was high time I got here with some updates . . .
We're already making plans for next year and first thing we did was to set the date ... March 2, 2014 ... Be sure to mark your calendars!
Then, we looked at the color chart for the commemorative t-shirts and decided on a really nice shade of purple ... a dark, rich shade of purple. Of course we don't have a design to put on it yet. We will probably have another t-shirt design contest for that but more info on that later ... check back in September for news on this.
There's also some pretty exciting news that, unfortunately, I can't share with you yet, but it involves a large, really COOL raffle item that may be donated to Bowl for the Cure. There's nothing official yet but stay tuned!

We're a SUCCESS !!
WOW! What a day! So many bowlers . . so many donations . . so much FUN !!
We don't have a total yet on our donations as there are still a few more promised due to come in but we had more than half again as many bowlers as we have had before ... bowlers as young as three and as old as ... well, I won't tell ages but I will say -- up to 70+ years. And everyone had a grand time and were generous in donating time and money to a great purpose.
WHAG TV 25 was there ... watch it here .... http://your4state.com/fulltext/?nxd_id=297852.
We'll be beginning plans for next year's Bowl for the Cure soon so stay tuned. Next year's date will be announced in a couple weeks (or maybe sooner!)
I'll be adding a link to pictures in a day or so . . .

OK . . . IT'S TIME !!!
If you find yourself at the Valley Mall, and you happen to have some spare change in your pocket, or in the bottom of your pocketbook, be sure to visit the center court area in front of BonTon . . . there's this really cool fountain there and it's a great place for you to unload all those heavy coins !
Seriously . . . all the coins deposited in the fountain between NOW and the end of March will be donated to Bowl for the Cure. It may not seem like a lot, but for the past couple years, these coins have added up enough to make the Valley Mall our single largest individual donor . . . and we appreciate every penny! (well . . . except for the washing and drying them all ... that's kind of a pain in the *** !)

Make sure your calendar is marked . . . March 3 will be here soon. You can still register to bowl or you could even just show up on the day of the event . . . Need to warn you though . . . the afternoon 10-pin squad is FULL ... so you gotta hurry!

Entry Deadline???
Yep . . . the official deadline is Feb 17th ... the reason being is, we need to order the t-shirts for the bowlers who are registered.
If you register later than that ... we cannot guarantee you will have a commemorative t-shirt, BUT, you will still be able to bowl. We'll be ordering a few extra shirts so you might be in luck . . . or maybe not.
Anyway - t-shirt or not, we hope you will join us on March 3 for the 4th Annual Bowl for the Cure!!
It's loads of fun, you get to meet some terrific people and it's all for a great cause!
See ya on the third!!

Got some news for you!
To change things up a bit, this year we had a t-shirt design contest for our commemorative t-shirts. Judging was done by popular vote . Entrants were told their design could be simply a sketch of their idea or ideas. All they were given was the very basic information of what had to be on the shirts. Out of 10 fabulous entries, here's the winning design ....
<< This was submitted by Linda Spigler, one of the bowlers in our Southside 48 bowling league. She confessed it was actually created by her daughter, Sarah Spigler.
Here's her original sketch >>
As you might have guessed, the shirts this year will be royal blue.
